Checking up on your Spouse Using the Power of the Internet

With the development of the World Wide Web, people have the ability to shop, research, and perform all types of tasks to include checking on a spouse for suspected infidelity.  In this article, we wanted to address options you have to check on a spouse to determine if he or she is or is not having an affair.

The way in which you would check to see if a spouse were cheating depends partly on the type of cheating being done.  For instance, if you suspect your husband or wife is chatting, setting up dates, or having cyber sex with someone online, you might consider using software that can be installed onto the computer.

This type of software is quite high-tech yet easy to install and use.  Typically, computer software for watching a spouse can be set to run in what is known as “stealth mode”.  This means the system is running but it is undetectable to anyone using the computer not knowing the software was installed.  This allows you to take snap shots at different intervals to determine websites being visited, emails being written, photographs being shared, and so on.

Now, if you suspect your spouse is cheating with someone in person, you can still use the internet to gain vital information.  Again, with or without the use of computer software designed for this very purpose, you can check your spouse’s email to see what type of communication is being done.  You can also check the history and temporary files on your computer, helping you see websites visited, which might include hotels, restaurants, and other meeting places.

The internet can also be used for looking up credit card and cell phone activity.  In this case, if you think that your husband or wife is hiding incoming bills that would show outgoing and incoming phone calls on a private cell phone, you can log onto the provider’s website and look online for activity.  The goal here is to identify repeat phone numbers that you do not recognize.  The same is true for the credit cards.  If for some reason the statements are no longer coming to the house, check online to see the expenses on your spouse’s card, along with date and time.

In addition, the actions taken by your spouse using the computer and/or internet could also be indicators of something going on.  For example, if your husband or wife is on the computer and you walk in the room, causing him/her to quickly change the screen or turn the computer off, you should be suspicious.  If your spouse is online for hours, you could also find a reason to draw him away from the computer, making your way into the computer room to look at the screen.

Another possible warning sign is your spouse staying up late to “work” on the computer.  Therefore, if you head to bed and your spouse insists on staying up late or your spouse gets up during the night to log onto the computer, you should be wonderful why.  As you can see, you have many different routes for using the internet to find out if you have an unfaithful spouse.  While learning the truth can be painful, it also puts you in control over making informed decisions.
